just wondering,

i'm earth main and everyone around my lvl seems to do twice as much damage as me.
i'm spending most group points in tai and nin attack but still i seem to do no damage at all.
is this just earth main teams or am i missing something here??

earth mains are more for tanking than damage dealing, also level doesnt determine ur damage, power does. so dont do lvl comparisons ever.

There are a few benchmark levels that comes with significant improvement, being 50(summon unlock), 53 (you can farm out a USEFUL summon) and 55(getting your last passive talent tier). There are others but they are less significant.

But yeah, other than those levels, power is the key.

@OP: most players carry either a heal or a tank in their team (in early game, this tend to be hinata and/or sakura), you can get away with using your main to tank and therefore not running tank and maybe not even healer, so you can do damage through your OTHER ninjas. Frankly, outside of fox and maybe sage, DPS doesn't really matter anyway, grindy is an option. Earth and water are a bit awkward in fox in the early game and are frequently hated in sage.
Of course, this is more of an early game concept, there are other routes to go once you get more ninjas and level up more, including a very long lasting tanky team and a more cc route. But if you have to ask, you probably aren't ready for those.

even at those levels power still means more, a lvl 55 with 10k power will never beat a lvl 40 with 20k power the raw stat difference is just too large

Now you are just arguing for argument's sake, I didn't say higher level (past benchmark) auto wins, but the fact of the matter is that realistically speaking, they usually do.

As far as your "example" goes, for one, such power difference at those levels is rather unlikely, unless the lv 40 is ptw. For another, that's not strictly true. For some mains, the additional talent as well as chase aids might allow them to cc their opponent to death (granted, if they have the knowledge and skill to do that, they won't only have 10k at lv 55)

That said, it's true that power still matters, the point being that each of those benchmark level you have over the opponent, you basically gains a "hidden" 10% extra power or so, so that a 11k lv 55 CAN beat a 14k lv 49, whereas it is very easy to get to 11k @55 while almost impossible (w/o ptw or level suppression) to get to 14k @49. So realistically, if you are a benchmark or two up, you are probably going to win.
