They get a significant percentage of income based off people not knowing the chances or future events. It's due to lack of planning at the higher level, but it is what it is. We play and spend off what we think is best and it usually benefits their plan of screwing us later.

If players knew a ninja would be half off a month from when they decide to buy it, would it be worth the extra $500? I think not.
