Honestly unless they come out and admit they screwed up they really have nothing to compensate for. They are in a *ed if you do *ed if you don't position. They admit they did wrong there going to be hell to pay they don't admit anything they are screwed. What they need to do is take the third option. The third option is coming out with clear info a a eta on what they have planed. The statement hey gave didn't address any of the issues people are having period.
