What does that have to do with "new server"
As long as you are a new PLAYER, regardless of whether you are in a new SERVER, you will be at a disadvantage in Xserver stuff.

The difference is, if you are in a new server, at least you have a fair chance at sage, assuming there are enough people to run sage. Whereas if the new player joined an old server, he will be bullied in sage (and anything else PvP wise)

While I agree masuri matchmaking is problematic, what you are saying makes no sense whatsoever.

  • how does that make no sense? LOL

if they were doing a proper job, matchmakings wouldn't be like that but instead, your matchups would be atleast "equal"

i already said it before, there are many ways to change those unfair cross server matchups, like putting some "groups" of battle power and not level or rank becuase those means nothing.
Like I said, I agree that the match making is problematic, the part that make no sense is your statement of "just don't open any of them anymore", it have no relevance to the problem whatsoever, since the disadvantage is on the new player, regardless of whether they are in a new or old server.

Also, hard bracketing is a problem in and of itself, it just means all players will alternate between being a winner or a loser as they gain power (winner while they are top of a bracket, gain some power and become bottom of the next bracket and become a loser, than gain some more and move to the top of that bracket and repeat, granted team compo and such could affect when a player is a winner/loser in relation to their current bracket range, but by and large that's the effect it would have)

What is needed is a dynamic range based matching system with a smaller acceptable range and a longer matching time. 1 min simply not enough for there to be a large enough matching * for there to be a likely close match for everyone in the pool. • He isn't talking about sage. Why you brought that up?

Matsuri is weird atm, even if lose a battle sometimes i get someone more powerfull.
And by watching last poll second pos HERElinkt, they can't do dynamic. Their desire of creating mass numbers of servers may have brought to this point, worsen with merges.

    KABOOM!!
My point is that having no new server will not have any advantage for new players in term of Xserver Masuri
Whereas it will have disadvantages for them, of which sage is an example (plunder/convoy, ranked battle, fox etc can apply as well, it's not about sage in particular)

Am I overestimating people's reading comprehension skills?

  • First i was pointing to the fact about sage, witch is not cross over, dunno again why you brought it up nor why you talking about no cross server events. I think you didn't clicked that link did you? That with merges, what brings? Clusters. If the cross servers is as it was described, you get fights against clusters. That actually explains when it says ill get a weaker opponent and i end getting a stronger one.

Editing: Ranks, i forgot to talk about that. In their description they talk about rank matchmaking. Look at arena right now. New servers are on the wrong side of the coin. This post was last edited by 390***@uf16 at 2017-3-18 06:40
The sage bit have nothing to do with Xserver, it is an example of a thing that is more fair to a new player on a new server instead of a new player in an old server.

I could easily replace the word "sage" with "convoy" or "nine tail" and it would make the same argument (of course, there will be adjustment to the rest of the paragraph but that's nit picking)

The point is, the Op is asking, because of the masuri Xserver matchmaking system, to stop making new server. While there ARE valid reason to reduce the rate at which new servers are made, his suggestion is NOT useful for fixing the problem he is complaining about, and it is WORSE for new players as it would make their life harder, should they join existing server instead, in, for example, sage, but equally for ranked battle, nine tails, convoy/plunder and whatever other remotely competitive feature in game.

So "sage" was never the "point" of it, it is merely one of MANY example of the point I'm trying to make, that is "features in which new player will suffer should they join an older server instead of a new one".

So I am overestimating people's reading comprehension skills. I'm sorry but I really don't know how to convey my message better to people who are lacking in logical thinking skills.
