I noticed that ninja tools have additional attributes, are those random or they appear as you upgrade the tool? Also, how many aditional attributes can you have on one tool and each attributes are available?

From what I can tell they're random. I've found the same tool with different attributes. Haven't seen more than two random on the same tool but I've also never seen any yellow tools, so.
Edit: Nevermind, I just found a purple ninja tool with 3 bonus attributes.
