That is true if you have no lag. (and for the record, it's NOT just internet lag, your flash rendering ability matters too)
The "timing" before ANY move is made in each round is so that you can Q up your mysteries early, so that lag don't get to you.

Sounds like you are not doing the mystery in that safe period and instead try to do it once the round "really starts", at which time lag gets to you.
