Sadly chat history for private messages isn't saved if you close the chat window. This should be something very easy to implement.

Assuming I'm not misunderstanding your post, click the "Friends" menu then press the "Recent" tab and after that just double click their name. From there you can send them a message or view their message history.

yes the "Friends" then "Recent" is the way you can get to your messages but you would still have to know who you were chatting with. but that method doesn't work if you are in a battle since you can't open "friends" in there. if i am doing TI, group instance, ranked or arena i have no way to reply to my friends that aren't in my group and haven't posted in a world, battle or team chat with me since i logged in. it would be nice if there was a PM chat tab where the All, World, Group, Team, Fight and Battle are. or at least opening up a PM chat and having it show all your previous people you PM'd. kinda like this

Thanks for the tip Azura. But I agree with Crimson95, the reason I'd like a PM tab is because I can't PM any of my non-group friends while I'm in battle unless I can find their name in one of the other chat tabs. It doesn't make much sense to me that they have the message box only able to appear when you have a pending message. It should appear just like the Group Chat when you click on it. Or at least have a PM tab in the normal chat window.

you aren't missing anything I have had that trouble many times and have ask the person ask the people if there is another way there is not and they might update it soon.
