Quite disappointing, but Iron Winter shall rebuild and claim victory in the next GNW!

After a long and audacious battle between the giants of s10: Shikamaru, which pits the Uchiha Clan against Akatsuki against each other on a regular basis, Iron Winter claims a seat at the top of the trophy! After losing to Akatsuki *in qualifiers, Iron Winter dropped to the 3rd best Group in s10. Between qualifying and the finals, our Groupies strengthened mind and body in preparation for the GNW, Part 3. When the dust settled, somehow Iron Winter ended up on top, besting the mighty and powerful Uchiha Clan. Next week, many experts predict that Uchiha will stomp its compet1tion flat, but, at least for one week, Iron Winter can exist to fight another GNW!

Alas, today I post a reply to this thread with somber news. But first, an update on how s10's GNW battles have shaped out.

After Iron Winter's first win in the last month of August, the month of September was filled with competitive spirit, as Uchiha, Akatsuki and Iron Winter battled it out on a weekly basis to determine a champion. Iron Winter often fell short of the title, partly due to our inexperience and strength, but we were undeterred in our thirst for the title of GNW Champions. After about a couple of month's worth of struggling against the might of Uchiha and Akatsuki, Iron Winter caught a major break. There was a wind of change being *n through the streets of s10.

One of the top players in s10 at the time was named BryonUchiha, name censored for privacy. After discord broke out internally between members of Uchiha, BryonUchiha and another player named Gin, again censored for privacy, left Uchiha for Akatsuki. This shift in power dawned the Era of Akatsuki. For the first time since Uchiha dominated the GNW scene at the onset of s10, Akatsuki now controls the title of most powerful group. During this time period, other players had to deal with the boasting of Akatsuki members, although there was never a dull moment in World Chat when Akatsuki controlled the server. After what seemed like an eternity, another shift in power was about to take place, something that will create a new champion.

Citing negative feelings between themselves and the leader of Akatsuki, Iron Winter accepted 3 refugees from Akatsuki, all of whom are now prominant members of our group. Partly because of their addition into the family, Iron Winter won our first GNW since the opening month of the server. Ever since the defection of the refugees from Akatsuki to Iron Winter, s10 entered the age of Iron Winter. With each successive win by Iron Winter, it seemed as though the other groups lost fighting spirit. Uchiha changed its name to Iaijutsu Strikers and underwent a leadership change. Akatsuki built up its power internally and always provided a new challenge, but lacked the overall numbers that Iron Winter was blessed with. During Iron Winter's reign, a new group emerged from the shadows of anonymity to challenge Iron Winter's rule.

A group called Amaterasu, which has been around since the first month of s10's existance, has been slowly gaining power and popularity. Led by the beautiful AthenaRose, censored, she has built up a group with ethics and morals rivaling that of Iron Winter. Recently, major members of Akatsuki have left their original group and joined the Amaterasu force in the hope of stopping Iron Winter in their tracks. At the time of this writing, the new members were unable to participate in the most recent GNW. Once Amaterasu gets all of its members on the right page and able to participate, s10 expects the era of Amaterasu to begin.

But enough with history. This post is dedicated to one person, the person who has been with Iron Winter since day 1, by default. She is the creator of Iron Winter and has been responsible for its progression from unknown to top of s10. She is AzaGuiter, Baza, BigBoss, AzaBaza, all censored, but all her. She has been the embodiment of what Iron Winter has expected of its members; honesty, integrety, and a playful edge. Because of what she has contributed to her group, we all feel compelled to carry on her will and pass on her spirit to every new member that we add to Iron Winter. Today, as the leadership role passes to me, a senior who has seen all the good that she has done during her time as leader of Iron Winter. I will do what I believe is the correct path for Iron Winter to take to continue its success now and into the future. I can truly say that she will be missed, but not forgetten in the hearts of those in who live in the Iron halls as cold as Winter.
