The moment you accept the convoy, your name enters the plunder list.

It's true that after convoy/plender event close you can no longer accept convoy missions. However plunder is another story; they could still refresh that list. So if they see you running through town with that giant neon sign on your head, they will head to the commisioner and jump you, regardless of the time. It's gambling; there's no guarantee if they happen to see you (usually most ppl wait around the village gate); but running after convoy closed does lessen your chance of being noticed.

A little advice: Don't let them narrow down your time-table: if you always do that SS run at that time, they will get suspiscious and will start to camp that list even after closing hour. Switch-up your routine; feed them 1 or 2 SS per week so they aren't so salty; also beware of those snitches and alts - avoid them but DON'T piss them off - you need them to stay away from you, not give them more incentives to turn you in.

Finally, monitor the people who usually plunder. Remember their name. Prior to running SS, check 9tails event/Sage World participant list/Hot Spring/your friendlist to see whether these people are online or not; or have you seen them plundered people on that day yet. Also, avoid dueling them; that's a way to size you up and see whether they could take you on a convoy run. Also, when your name enters the list, or the list is being spammed, there's a considerable lag on your run. It's your choice to whether soildier on and leave it to lady luck or refresh.

I me*e it to crosscheck the list: if those guys are online but not in Sage or doing Hotspring... well you do the Math. :)

Although sometimes this game trolls like a *beep*. I once reached the destination, got the green sign to signifies that I've completed the quest but someone jumped me at that exact moment... Well, hey, like i said, it's gambling.
