It seems like they've adapted the Matsuri's matching system into Arena: if you win a battle, you will get match to somebody with higher power; and vice-versa, if you lose, you'll get match to somebody with lower power. This makes earning points quite a moot point: most people with higher power have higher initiative which is the only stat that matters in Arena, therefore, you can predict that, since you have won the previous arena battle, you will very likely lose the next one.

It doesn't apply for every case, since if you can actually invest into initiative (via stone/rune/purifying/refining equipment), you have a very high chance of winning. However, the number of players could invest to the point of winning every battle and earn Sennin rank is pretty small in the players pool.

So, yeah, not subtracting point if you lose battle is a good idea. It encourages people to participate in Arena more, since you don't lose your current rank/rewards even if you does lose.

(i remember reading about not losing points if you lose in Arena 2.0, has it been revised?) This post was last edited by Watanuki13 at 2017-2-18 09:33

  • i dont think arena match you with someone close to your power.. its like they match you with people who has the same arena points as you (example is if you have 32 rank points you get match with people who has 31-33 rank points).. thats why some people doesnt get match quickly despite the cross server being implemented, its simply because no one who has the same rank point as you or near it is queing..
i did some test on this.. wasnt to extensive thou so i might be wrong. would be better if we get a clarification from a mod about this :P

Your theory is definitely more plausible than mine. If its rank than its fairer than expected.
