  • Tho they have stated multiple times that having multiple account on the same server is against ToS, and for the moment they aren't enforcing this rules but things can change. I'm not here to discuss if this is a good or bad thing, just wanna give out some accurate info.
But what's the POINT of having a second account if you are going to play on DIFFERENT servers? An account can have a char on EVERY server. It's counter intuitive.

Oasis ToS does not say anything about multiple account. to the best of my knowledge, there is no seperate ToS for Naruto online

I'm very curious about who this "they" is. Because if it's just mods, you can ignore them. Fact of the matter is that they are rarely clued into the exact terms of service and can be under the wrong impression from experience from other games.

there is also the issue of the context in which "they" stated it. For example, using *t to get recruit a friend reward might be a separate issue, because it's technically *ulent from the design of the system prospective, and therefore that might have been what they are talking about. I mean other than that, how often does the issue of alts come up really?

And finally, giving account away to other player is also a separate issue from having alt, and despite ALSO not in ToS is usually not permitted on principle.

  • Just for a bit of info from a former Mod on a different game and company, something doesn't have to be in the ToS for a Mod to ban you for it, there are plenty of "unwritten rules" and such that exist to keep things running smoothly.

The issues stem when people start demanding everything be in the ToS, which is why 99% of ToS has something like this in it "Engaging in cheating or any other activity that OASIS deems to be in conflict with the spirit of OASIS." which basically means that they're allowing Mods and staff to interpret actions as reprehensible without the need to spell it out.

Also telling people that Mods can be ignored is not smart, especially if you're trying to find way around the rules.

This is just my opinion and my advice though so take it or leave it I guess.
I have been mods of games before, a lot of things are not explained to mods explicitly and sometime they make their own guesses, which is why I say MODS can be ignored. Admins are quite another issue altogether.

Also, while I certainly agree that they can ban people for violating "spirit of OASIS", that's a rather complicated matter. Take multi account for example, there are many uses for them. I perfectly understand it if they use it to spy, use it to give themselves convoy to plunder, use it to develop their group etc. Those would give the player (or the group) unfair advantage over other players (or group), which does in fact violate "spirit of OASIS"
However, if it is only used for enabling sage, which should not have been needed in the first place if Oasis did their job right, certainly does not violate "spirit of OASIS". And therefore, it should be fine.

@Giizis: people tend to be lazy. The topic you specifically quoted is one that does, in fact, violate "spirit of OASIS" (see above). They are not going to take time to explain to you that multi account is generally not allowed because it can be abused and would be considered ok only if blah blah blah(and considering they probably don't even play the game, they might not even realize there are legitimate uses) and therefore just goes for the simple blanket answer of "no multi". They said it's against the rules but never specified which rule exactly, and if it was indeed a matter of "spirit of OASIS", I'm sure we can convince them that community service does not violate that. I never understood why people doesn't quote the rule when answering a rule related question.
