Let's all be honest here. The system proposed isn't fair. Those that think otherwise, I'm guessing it doesn't affect you or your friends or you are seriously underestimating the difficulty to get 6 path sannin in this new system. It's not just about willpower and that people are lazy.
Let me just explain some possible future drawbacks to this system. Again the rewarding is "All or Nothing". So you will have 2 groups of players, one who will do it religiously until they get 6 path and another who wont touch arena even once.
But the problem comes because in order to get 6 path you need opponents. Not all 100 players (for simplicity) who strive to get 6 path will get it. maybe 15-20 will be stranded at different ranks along the way with no one to match against. Not because they are not strong (refines etc.) or dont have good strategy, but because they are the weakest among those trying to get 6 path. All those he could easily beat aren't even trying. As it is, I don't think you can be matched with people far outside your rank.
Repeat this cycle and the stranded 20 will stop playing ranked. Then among the 80 still competing there will be a new bottom 15 who cant achieve 6 paths even though they have done it with ease previously. See the pattern? The All or nothing reward structure will eventually kill the system.
I'd really suggest to reconsider the rewards system. I'm tired of seeing friends quitting.
