TL;DR it won't work, because eventually you can just tell people apart by looking at their team.

You know how in sage world battle field doesn't show players name?

Well, your server probably haven't reached this point yet, being new and the teams player use volatile as a result. But in our server, we can EASILY tell who is who by the team they are using. And in the rare event when players use the same team (note that at this point, everyone have some and only some of the rare ninja, thus not everyone C*e the same teams), usually can tell them apart by their power (if you hover your mouse over the enemy portrait on the upper right, it tells you how much power that team have). And you DO need to know their power, this helps you judge how you should act as sometimes maybe a combo can kill something and therefore you should do that, but against others it can't and could potentially be useless (especially if they have healers to clear off whatever CC you put on them). And besides, you can see the hp bar, and usually estimate their strength based on that anyway, since more hp and more power usually goes hand in hand.

Of course, I'm only talking about opponent that matters. For example, as a level 85, I'm pretty unfamiliar with most player below lv 80, because the battle end too fast and too easily for it to matter... well except one, who is super strong for her level, so we all know that one. But you get the gist.

  • Ah, I see then. No one is my server has reached past 60 yet.
I just thought that, with events that creates competitive environments without limitations, it sure feels a bit unbalanced in the long run.

In a past rpg game I played, with similar concept to this one it caused a lot of drama between players and guilds. People who play everyday will remember other active players and when conflicts arise between people or guilds it is just very unpleasant. Even if people are not using verbal abuse in fear of breaking the rules, they still have unfriendly tension between each other.

I have not played this game long enough. But I certainly hope it is not one of the games with a lot of drama between players in the same server. xd
My server have some drama... ironically it doesn't really stem from the top ptw...

Despite being in a different group than the top 4 ptw of my server (those 4 are in the same group btw), I'm on pretty good term with them. They are, fortunately, not bad/egoistic people as some ptw are. And... well... there are times when I'm dependent on them for TI, being one of the top ftp, when I pass the bench mark for a new TI, few except those 4 are there (usually 0 to 3). This was true for TI81 in 1.0 and 37600 and 43200 in 2.0. Won't happen again now since we are at the "end" unless new TI are added but we still go together sometimes. (and they are willing to help out even when they are done, so they are in fact nice people, can't hate that)

drama.... comes elsewhere.... From people who don't know what humor is(we poke fun at each other, we all know that it is just friendly jibs, even across different group, but some ppl...) and/or people that have entitlement issues (in term of GNW packs, we aren't even doing those based on power, but on a rotation that's loosely tied to various participation/contribution so if you are active, you will get one every 2-3 weeks, but no, some people aren't active at all, joins 1-2 fight a week and expect packs frequently....)
