Hi, first off, I couldn't find a fitting label to this post. :(
I have been playing Naruto online for about 15 days now and when I started playing it was in a new server as well. I find this game quite fun to play.
But after playing it for sometime, I have been starting to wonder.

Look, I guess each server is quite small since new servers emerge and new players will join there. So I guess, the people who are playing in my server will stay fixed that way. The most active/strongest players has been gathered in one group. Their group leader did a good job promoting it by spamming everyone in private chats asking them to join. But that leaves a quite big gap compared to the other groups.
It brings a strong feel of a "we/them" feeling in this game some time.

I don't talk much with people when I play. I'm quite casual too, not too competitive. I have participated in weekly events such as the Sage battle one. The concept is really nice. But since I'm not one of the strongest players, participating is quite unfun for me. When strong players just like 'wait around' and 'farming' you know. That it feels quite pointless and demotivating to play. xd

The same with the convoy quests. Taking the SS mission I get attacked every single time and I lose. I know that you can't win all the time. But in this case, I feel like: 'If I participate, I will lose'. Cuz this game is basically more towards 'pay 2 win'. So being 'fair' isn't even a discussion.

It is still alright. I don't take the game too seriously. But playing often, it is always THE SAME players who plunder me/farming me. It does get a little annoying to see them around after awhile. Something like: "Look it is that guy again who has been plundering me everyday for the past week."
So I was thinking that, for the long term, more competivie/talkative players out there. It seem quite easy to like, cause a fight among the players. If someone by chance lose their temper, it would likely to start * talking and stuff.
Isn't that quite unhealthy for a game?

I think, it would been better. If player profile were not open for view instead set to private, and that player names will not be shown in plunder and those competitive battles, rather be kept anonymous. That way, concealing player's identity might be good to keep the player community more friendly with each other. What do you guys think? Anyone thought about this?

  • TL;DR it won't work, because eventually you can just tell people apart by looking at their team.

You know how in sage world battle field doesn't show players name?

Well, your server probably haven't reached this point yet, being new and the teams player use volatile as a result. But in our server, we can EASILY tell who is who by the team they are using. And in the rare event when players use the same team (note that at this point, everyone have some and only some of the rare ninja, thus not everyone C*e the same teams), usually can tell them apart by their power (if you hover your mouse over the enemy portrait on the upper right, it tells you how much power that team have). And you DO need to know their power, this helps you judge how you should act as sometimes maybe a combo can kill something and therefore you should do that, but against others it can't and could potentially be useless (especially if they have healers to clear off whatever CC you put on them). And besides, you can see the hp bar, and usually estimate their strength based on that anyway, since more hp and more power usually goes hand in hand.

Of course, I'm only talking about opponent that matters. For example, as a level 85, I'm pretty unfamiliar with most player below lv 80, because the battle end too fast and too easily for it to matter... well except one, who is super strong for her level, so we all know that one. But you get the gist.
Ah, I see then. No one is my server has reached past 60 yet.
I just thought that, with events that creates competitive environments without limitations, it sure feels a bit unbalanced in the long run.

In a past rpg game I played, with similar concept to this one it caused a lot of drama between players and guilds. People who play everyday will remember other active players and when conflicts arise between people or guilds it is just very unpleasant. Even if people are not using verbal abuse in fear of breaking the rules, they still have unfriendly tension between each other.

I have not played this game long enough. But I certainly hope it is not one of the games with a lot of drama between players in the same server. xd

  • I'm sorry to tell you this but EVERY server has drama between players, I speak from experience. I have played on 3 different servers, looking for one that didn't have too heavily Pay to Win players so I had a little chance. The thing is though, most of the drama is caused simply because the top spenders have it too easy and complain about no competition and so this triggers the Free to Play players to start the whole "It's only easy because you spent your mortgage on a game". Me personally, I would like to see a non spendable server were there are no in-game currency, nothing. This way, players really have to be smart as to what they upgrade etc. The players will need more strategy to win rather than power, but, this server PROFIT OASIS at all so all we can do is dream...
Sad to hear that. I really enjoy the game in general, because I like collecting ninjas and Naruto is one of my fav anime... xd

But if this how the game and the community is, I guess it isn't worth for me to spend money in it. I hate dramas. xd But I don't blame the company wanting to make profit tho. However it ruins a game's fun for the general play base if the game itself is unbalanced with too much p2w rather than skill based. It is like the time and effort you put is next to meaningless if you're not spending cash on it...

  • Well this game still is less p2w than many others with similar concept. And lets be honest...there are not many "big whales" who spend **x $ on every servers, just a few. Most people if they're spending $ they're buying just gaara, maybe 1 time jonin medal or nowadays those monthly coupons. But still it's understanable because servers are not running for free, develepoers won't work for free etc. About complaining ? The thing is, people who complain the most will always complain, if You'll make server without any donations...you'll see them saying "aaa You don't work, You're little kiddo so You've more time to play than me, not fair etc." . You can easily check games where money gives You only cosmetic changes...You c*so meet there "complainers" and haters. This is how some people are, You can jump into their trap and start discussion with them which bring only negative energy...or You can ignore them and have fun with what You have. Same as in life, not everyone works in dream job, not everyone has many thing yet people can be happy with what they've. About hidden names in plunder im not against not for, so I'll be happy with any of this options. have a good day This post was last edited by mar***@gmail.com at 2017-2-16 06:42
I have tried many games, with really good concepts. Most of them are p2w, and no matter how nice the game is. It just sorta defeats the purpose to me, to actually play.If you know what I mean. I don't have anything against people who spend tons of money in games. Cuz if they spend it on games, they can't spend it on other stuff.

One game (and sorry for being offtopic) that I really enjoy and has been playing for years is League of legends. You can spend money on cosmetics, but no money will affect your skills and your game play, it all comes down to time and effort spent. The better you play, the higher rank you get and it really feels like an achievement and I get the feeling 'Yes I did it!', because you get better the more effort you put in, your personal skill no money can buy. That kind of feeling which I can never get in p2w game.
