I can't answer your first question since I never do convoy. A friend told me tho that if you leave at the last minute before convoy time ends you can avoid plunderers and continue the mission as long as you have claimed it already.
If you refresh while plunder is ongoing you would lose the rewards naturally as if you retreated from battle. I think the same is true if the battle is still loading and you have slow connection, cause I sometimes lose my plunder rewards because of that :curse:
Nothing is bad with wanting to keep your money. If your group mates refuse to support you then maybe you should consider changing groups ;P
The plunder level gap is 15. Meaning if the plunderer is 15 levels above you he cannot see you on his plunder list and consequently cannot plunder you.
I used to think that first plothole was legit and kept doing it for a few runs until yesterday, plunderers were all standing by around Konoha Forest to catch last-minute runners; me being one of them :'( I made sure to set off after the server clock went past 9pm but they still caught me. -

- Plunderers can get you at any time regardless. All the way till 2.30pm or 9.30pm. The plunder window the open all the time, of course if you click it, there will be nothing outside the convoy window, but as long as you run it, plunderers can see it.
