Both sentences are correct, one makes you happy, the other makes you sad... What's even more sad than the first sentence, is just how most people LIKE to complain and be sad, and I will never understand this...
They are complaining for a reason. Just like they have a choice to ignore the gold fish event (which is lame, lets be real here.) You can ignore their complaints. They aren't pointed towards you so you don't have to go at them.
