I actually found that classic Empress in some ways works better. You don't have as much power on your other members, but the shield refresh and more importantly, the debuff purge, increases survivability by a lot. Also Rasengan cooldown going from 4 rounds to 3 after using twice makes a significant difference.

But in the end it will always be a very binary comp that can get shutdown rather easily.

The new Flower Guard is one of the staple skills re-invented for patch 2.0. Purge and Guard nothing else you could ask.

Empress build is always about empowering the main character which means.
1. 2 female ninjas in team - Kurenai (for mirror + shield and massive heal) + Hinata (for his tankiness + acupuncture)
2. 1 Male ninjas which basically can disable the whole team - Recommended Gaara Kazekage for his immobile and buff.

This team work wonders now, provided you have first initiative faster than your opponents or if the power gap is not too much wait for your enemy to cast mystery then Flower Guard will cleanse the debuff EVERY round FIRST then only it will cast the mystery.
