Because of the change (mostly nerf for the purpose it is used) to wind dance, dude squad is no longer optimal, so I'm wondering if there is a better 9 tail team for me, potentially using one of the new talents.
Currently, my team consist of yamato(5*), 8 gate lee (2*) and GNW kiba (3*)

The other non-elite instance/exchange shop ninja I have are:
2*: GNW tenten, obito boy, konohamaru corp
3*: orochi traitor, ao, sage naruto, jigokudo, all the sign in GNW, mei, kurotsuchi, enma, akatsuchi, shizune, demon zabuza, windblade asuma, garra, torune abrume, fukurukumaru

Given that most of them are irrelevant to 9 tail, I think the list can be probably simplified to:
2*: 8 gate lee, GNW tenten
3*: sage naruto, mei, GNWs, windblade asuma, garra and maybe kurotsuchi (for earth synergy that I currently have, it feels weak but putting it out there)

I have every exchange shop and elite instance ninja, most of which can be made into 5* fairly easily or already are, so just assume them to be 5*. (yes, I'm aware that itachi, deidera, sannins etc will be difficult to get to 5, but for one they are not very good for nine tail and for another, those are the minority and it's far too bothersome to list everything)

so, any ideas?

  • Nope! The skills are still the same for me, and I still rank in the top 3 even with the new Nine Tails where he dies super fast.
ranking don't me*l that much w/o knowledge on your competition.
What is your power on that team and how much damage per minute do you do?

I have around 38-39.5k power depending the team I use (max power a bit over 40k, but that's not tail related)

I'm looking at 230k on my earth team (above described), this is 25% mooded and fully awakened.

250k on my water team trial #1 (kisame, main, GNW tenten, mei w/ chakra talent for boosting kisame and using tenten myst on turn 1)
still have to do water team trial #2, where I use queen talent, in which case it will be turn 2 tenten, turn 3 kisame+mei and so on.
This team is missing 2 awaken on mei, like 9 on GNW tenten and not mooded, so I dare say this will be superior if maxed, should do around 15-20% extra damage I'd say.

I have the ninja for the wind team as you listed, but I have issue awakening them, and they are certainly not mooded. Will try out once I can get more mats....

Note this is per minute, one round, including rez timer, is about 2 min, so roughly 2x the amount per round.

  • I use the following set up, and routinely land anywhere between 1-3 in the Nine Tails Rankings.
NINE TAILS WIND MAIN SET UP
Ninjas: Wind Main 5*, Gaara 4*, Wind Blade Asuma 3*, Baki 4*
    Talents: 11332
Summon: Tonton (NOT Chameleon, even though it can work too - Tonton does more single target damage than Chameleon)
    Tactic: Ghost Kill
    Lineup:
    MAIN x x
    WB Asuma Gaara x
    Baki x x

    GENERAL TACTICS:
Round 1: Skill Gaara for the Wind ninja buff. Once the barrier is raised, use Wind Main's skill.
Round 2: Use WB Asuma's skill
Round 3: Use Main's skill and Baki's skill.
Round 4: Skill Gaara as soon as the round starts, for the barrier buff. Nine Tails will use his Tailed Beast Bomb - if more than one ninja dies, retreat.
Round 5: Skill Main, Baki, and WB Asuma. Nine Tails will use Exploding Hell - if you are down to 3-2 ninja after this attack, retreat.
Round 6: Nobody skills this round. Let standard attacks do damage.

Round 7: Skill Gaara as soon as the round starts. After the barrier is up, use Wind Main and Baki's skills. After Baki's standard attack, hit retreat.

If four round is goal, I'd say the skill usage should be instead:
1 garra, main
2 baki
3 main, (wait a bit for some normal hits) garra drop barrier (hopefully as the last action of turn but that's hard to tell)
4 garra, asuma, baki

this will get 2 baki in the first 4 rounds instead of 1, all else being effectively the same.
Granted, if somehow you have so much shield that turn 5 is viable, the original proposed skill order would be better, since it would have 2 baki + 2 asuma, as oppsed to 2 baki 1 asuma. So knowing ahead the probability of whether your team will last extra turns would be quite useful.
