Jiraya is there to handle threats (Itachi admits he is flat weaker than Jiraya and that together with Kisame if they went all out the best outcome was they'd all die.)
Minato is there to teleport back to Kurama after identifying the threat and supporting Jiraya

Yakumo Kurama is my Trump card. Madara thinks he is cool and powerful? From the other side of the continent she draws a picture of Madara falling into a volcano or his body gets cut in half by a rock. Basically how she can control reality as the limit to her range is imagination. If for some reason she is having trouble dealing with her target. She also can team up with Hidan to assassinate any target in the world. She creates using her Kekkei Genkai blood for Hidan of the target. Hidan's use of seals apply a sympathetic connection to the target based on the resonance in the blood. Yakumo creates a mock version of your blood which is treated as real. Hidan Kills Naruto or any other threat.

Might Guy uses his Death Gate.... Kurama fixes Might Guy from dying by a simple picture and miraculously he is healed. How does Kurama know when to do this? Simple Minato can teleport right to Kurama and say Might Guy needs "Popeye's Spinach" Might Guy with infinite duration Death Gate? Yes please. Kurama--- makes the world easy. She draws a nuclear explosion guess what happens?
